Abstract

1,236,373. Cellular drawn films and strips. PLASTICISERS Ltd. 3 July, 1968 [8 July, 1967], No. 31535/67. Headings B5A and B5B. [Also in Division C3] A cellular drawn film or strip is composed of a mixture which comprises (i) and polypropylene or a copolymer of propylene with another alkene; and (ii) intimately dispersed therein a copolymer of ethylene with vinyl acetate. The drawing of the film or strip is preferably substantially wholly longitudinal. In the example a mixture of ethylene/propylene copolymer, ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer and azo carbonamide was extruded through a " coat hanger " type film die into a water bath, fed to a first haul-off unit and then stretched at a ratio of 6À5: 1 whilst passing through a hot air chamber.
