Abstract

1413379 Polyethylene films DU PONT OF CANADA Ltd 31 Jan 1973 [1 Feb 1972] 4854/73 Heading C3P High density polyethylene films are made from blends of (1) at least 70% by weight of a first ethylene polymer of density 0À950 to 0À965 g./c.c and (2) not more than 30% by weight of an ethylene homopolymer of density 0À930 to 0À945 g./c.c. and melt index at least 0À1. The first polymer preferably has a narrow molecular weight distribution and a melt index of at least 0À1. The films may be oriented by stretching at a draw ratio of at least 6 : 1.
