Abstract
1335385 Blends of aromatic polysulphones and polyolefins IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 23 April 1971 [7 May 1970 16 Nov 1970] 22128/70 and 54410/70 Headings C3R and C3P A thermoplastic polymer blend comprises: (1) 75 to 99À9% by weight of an aromatic polysulphone consisting of repeating units of formulµ alone or in combination with each other and/or with up to 80% of units of formula and (2) 25% to 0À1% by weight of at least one saturated polyolefin. In examples blends are prepared from polysulphone with polypropylenes, polyethylenes, a methylpentene polymer, butyl rubbers, ethylene-propylene rubber, an ethylene - hydroxyethyl methacrylate - methyl methacrylate copolymer and an ethylenemethacrylic acid - methyl methacrylate - vinyl acetate copolymer. In one example, alumina is also present. Uses.-Mouldings, films and fibres.
