Abstract

1322763 Extruding plastics sheet SEKISUI KAGAKU KOGYO KK 17 July 1970 [19 July 1969] 34811/70 Heading B5H A thermoplastic resin sheet having a coloured band is formed by feeding a resin into a flat die 1 having a manifold 11, and forcing a stream of coloured resin through at least one injection port 7 into the manifold 11 so that it diffuses widthwise of the main stream. The resin can be polyethylene polypropylene, polystyrene, polycarbonate, polyvinyl chloride, polyamide, polyvinyl butyral, polyacrylates, or polyester, and can be coloured with an azo, anthraquinonic or a quiniline dye. The port 7 can have a crosssection in the form of a circle, ellipse, elongated ellipse, crescent or half crescent, and can be inclined with respect to the axis of the manifold.
