Abstract

1333744 Blow-moulding BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 15 Jan 1971 [26 Jan 1970] 3637/70 Heading B5A Blow-moulded articles are formed by extruding a hollow thermoplastics parison, separately extruding at least one strip of thermoplastics adjacent the outer surface of the parison or adjacent to the inner surface thereof so that it adheres to the inner surface thereof and then blow-moulding the article. The strip may be circular, semicircular or oval in section and may be extruded from a separate extruder from the hollow parison or so that they impinge on and adhere to the parison. The parison and strip may be of the same or different materials e.g. h.d. or 1.d. polyethylene, polypropylene, poly. vinyl chloride, polystyrene, ABS, or high melt strength polyamide, and may be of the same or a different colour. The strip may be helically or circularly disposed around the internal or external surface of the article.
