Abstract

1308776 Blow-moulding; multiple skinned articles JOSEPH LUCAS (Industries) Ltd 19 June 1970 [30 June 1969 10 Dec 1969] 32876/69 and 60187/69 Heading B5A Hollow, multiple-skinned articles are produced by blow-moulding an inner parison within an outer parison with an insert of woven or fibrous material therebetween so that they are inflated simultaneously. The parisons are preferably extruded one within the other, but may be formed by injection moulding, one being coated with the other. The article may have two or three skins. The individual skins preferably have different physical and/or chemical properties. Materials specified are polythene, P.V.C., and polystyrene. The outer surface may be decorated by vacuum metallizing.
