Abstract

1,235,098. Toy whale. COSMO TOYS MANUFACTORY Ltd. 5 Dec., 1969 [28 Oct., 1969], No. 52698/69. Heading A6S. Within the body 1 of a toy whale there is a centrifugal air impeller 4, driven by a battery-operated electric motor, having its outlet 2 connected to a blowhole 3. The body is carried on front wheels 6, mounted on a support 8 which can pivot freely on a vertical shaft 9, and rear wheels 7, which are not steerable. The front wheels 6 are connected to the vertical shaft 9 through a differential gear assembly including a crown wheel 13, the shaft 9 being coupled, through speed reduction gearing 10, to a second electric motor 11 also powered by batteries 12. A small ball 15 of light material is provided which can be supported by the current of air projected upwardly.
