Abstract

1,234,147. Loading and unloading load platforms on to vehicles. HYDRAULEX A.B. 21 Nov., 1969 [21 Nov., 1968], No. 57214/69. Heading B8Q. A vehicle 1 has a frame 2 pivotable about an axis 3 by an hydraulic cylinder 4 and provided with an endless transmission member in the form of a chain 5 to raise a load platform 9 from the ground and to draw it on to the bridge. The chain 5 has a coupling member in the form of a hook 15 having a spring urged locking flap which engages a coupling element 14 on a chain 12 connected at 13 to the platform 9 and retained in the correct coupling position by retainers 20, 24 the former being spring loaded so that it releases the chain 12 as the platform is lifted. Limit switches may stop the motor drive of the chain 5 as the platform reaches the forward limit on the frame 2. To unload the platform 9 from the frame 2 to the ground the drive of the chain 5 is reversed and a driver 29, Fig. 11, thereon engages a beam 28 under the platform 9 after a lifting member 27, Fig. 13, has slightly raised it. A traction cable 40 slightly raises the hook 15 during this reverse movement. The piston of an hydraulic cylinder may secure the platform 9 to the frame 2.
