Abstract

1,231,354. Prefabricated multi-storey buildings. S. W. SHELLEY. 14 Aug., 1969 [14 Aug., 1968], No. 40792/69. Heading E1A. A multi-storey building is composed of, prefabricated room units A which are stacked in staggered relationship as shown and interconnected by post-tensioning cables extending through the superimposed walls thereof, see also Figs: 3 and 6 (not shown). The end units A are supported on pillars E on end walls whilst the spaces between the units A are filled in with suitable cladding. Each unit A is preferably made of concrete and provided with service utilities, partition walls, cupboards and sanitory fittings as necessary, see Fig. 2 (not shown). For minor details concerning reinforcements, windows, anchoring of cables, grouting, provision of utility shaft &c the Specification and remaining drawings (not shown), should be referred to.
