Abstract
1,228,764. Cartons. TAYLOWE Ltd. 3 July, 1968 [3 July, 1967], No. 30498/67. Heading B8P. A tubular carton for liquids, erected from a blank, Fig. 1, has lines of weakness 6, 8 defining a tab 7 which can be removed by initial inwards pressure, to break the lines of weakness, and then pulling outwards and upwards. The carton is provided with an impervious lining 5, Fig. 5, which after filling is heat-sealed along its top seam 9 to make a closed bag. A notch (10), Fig. 3 (not shown), in the seam 9 facilitates tearing open the lining following removal of the tab 7. By squeezing inwards the opposite walls 1, 3, Fig. 5, of the carton, the wall 4 is bulged outwards along crease lines 11 extending to the area from whence the tab 7 has been removed, thus forming a pouring spout.
