Abstract

1362895 Cartons QUEPOR SA 11 July 1972 [3 Aug 1971] 32268/72 Heading B8P A carton for holding a flowable material such as a liquid or powder comprises a substantially rigid outer covering 1 of board containing a flexible fluid tight bag 2 within the covering 1 and inset end closures 10 at both ends. The closures and covering being creased at 11, 12, 13, 14 so that by pressing opposite sides 3, 5 together a pouring spout is formed in both the side wall and in the top closure. A line of weakness 17 is provided in the covering and in the top closure to facilitate opening the carton. A tab (27, Fig. 3) of the bag is pinched between the rim of top closure 10 and the wall of the covering so that tearing away of the strip above the line 17 simultaneously opens the bag. Due to the formation of a spout in both a side and the top the contents will flow if the carton is in a horizontal or vertical position.
