Abstract
1,227,890. Warp let-off motion. RUTI MACHINERY WORKS Ltd. 4 Dec., 1969 [4 Dec., 1968], No. 59371/69. Heading DIE. A warp let-off motion comprises a brake 26 for a warp beam 11, a tensioning roller 14 urged towards the warp 12 by first biassing means 25, second biassing means 29 which tends to apply the brake and linkage coupling the roller 14 to the brake and arranged to release the brake against the action of the biassing means 29 and to allow the biassing means 29 to apply the brake, alternately, depending on the position of the roller 14. In operation of the loom as the warp 12 is used up and with the brake applied the roller 14 moves to the left carried by arms 16 which pivot about an axis 17 and, through a link 20 and on 21, pivot a lever 22, 23 compressing the spring 25 and moving the lever arm 23 into engagement with an abutment 30. Further roller movement pulls down the abutment 30, and a rod 31 and releases the brake. The roller 14 is then moved to the right by the spring 25 as warp is let off and the lever arm 23 pivots clockwise, rising from the abutment 30 and permitting the spring 29 to reapply the brake. To provide a more uniform warp tension the roller 14 is arranged to move to the left of the vertical through the pivot 17 thereby producing a force counteracting the increased tension in the spring 25 as it is compressed by the moving roller.
