Toothed gearing. - In a geared turbine 1 driving a shaft 7 through double helical pinions 3, 4 and gears 5, 6, the tooth pressure arising from unbalanced thrust of the pinion shaft 2 is equalized, and the working pressure uniformlv distributed over the two sets of teeth by making the tooth faces of the said sets of unequal length. For example, the set 4, 6 may have twice the length of the set 3, 5.
