Cable 5 connects the diving bell to a second winch 4, sleeves 16 on arms 14 of the diving bell engage the guide cables 17 and second guides in the form of rollers 18, 19 on the arms engage rigid guide rails 11 on the sides of shaft 3 of the vessel. Blocks 20 hold the upper portions of cables 17 steady relative to rails 11.
