Abstract

1,224,834. Milling cutters. O.K. TOOL CO Inc. 4 Feb., 1969, No. 5816/69. Heading B3K A tool comprises a rotary carrier 1 having a recess wherein a bit 7 is positioned, it being held in place by a tapered lock 11 which is held fast by a screw 13, another screw 17 extends through the lock 11 to an abutment block 16 so that the bit can be moved outwardly as cutting edges 8 and 9 wear. The bit and recess have complementary diagonal grooves so that the extent by which both the cutting edges extend from the recess can be adjusted simultaneously. In a modification, Figs. 5-8 (not shown), the diagonal grooves are between the lock and the bit and the abutting surfaces of the lock and recess are serrated in a direction parallel to the axis of screw 13.
