Abstract

1345336 Cutting tools TAPER TIP Ltd 1 July 1971 [15 Aug 1970] 39465/70 Headings B3T and B3K A cutting tool comprises a tool holder and a removable cutting insert 20, the insert being conically tapered and is received in a conically taper bore 21 in the holder blade 12 which extends from the shank 10. A clamping screw 25 is provided to secure the insert in the bore 21 and prevent its rotation therein due to forces set up during operation. In the embodiment described the cutting tool is in the form of a parting-off tool but it is stated that the form of insert and its clamping may be used in milling cutters.
