Abstract

1,117,650. Milling-cutter. L. OPPOLD. 28 Oct., 1965 [17 Nov., 1964], No. 45667/65. Heading B3K. [Also in Division B5] A cutter head for use on wooden and plastics workpieces comprises a supporting disc having recesses containing adjustable cutting tools, the tools being adjusted and locked by adjusting and arresting forces acting between the disc and tools, the forces having components acting in opposition to each other. The supporting disc 1 has a recess containing a cutting tool 9 which is adjustable by a screw 5 engaging the tool and abutting the bottom of the recess and a screw 7 engages a surface 6 on the tool to lock the tool in the recess, the surface 6 and a surface 24 making an angle to prevent outward movement of the tool. In another embodiment, the locking screw acts at 180 degrees in opposition to the screw. Safety devices, such as further screws or wire, may be provided to ensure that the screws 7 remain tight. In Fig. 6 the cutter 31 is adjusted by means of the screw 33 and is retained by the screw 34.
