Abstract

1,223,832. Valves. MITCHELLS & BUTLERS (MIDLANDS) Ltd. 14 March, 1968 [14 Dec., 1966], No. 55985/66. Heading F2V. [Also in Division A4] Beer dispensing apparatus comprises a beerpull 10, Fig. 1, pivoted at 49 and urged to its upright position as shown by a tension spring 50, a valve 12 controlling the flow of beer under pressure with an inlet 14 and outlet 15 and urged to its closed position by a spring (17, Fig. 3), the beerpull 10 being connected to the operating arm 18 of the valve 12 through a tension spring 23, and a dispensing nozzle 37, Fig. 2, in which is located a copper pipe 36 connected to the valve outlet 15 through a flexible P.V.C. pipe 28. During initial movement of beerpull 10, a loop 22 on spring 23 surrounding a pin 21 rises in a slot 20 of arm 18, during further movement spring 23 is extended while arm 18 is raised to open the valve 12, and during the final movement valve 12 remains open while spring 23 is further extended. The inner end of pipe 36 is connected to a port 33 of the nozzle 37 through a wing-nut 32 and washer 43, and the outer end is brazed to the outlet 38 of the nozzle through a disc 46 thereon. The nozzle is secured to a rail 45 by a nut 41. A sparkler 39 and an open plug cock 44 are provided.
