Abstract

1,216,491. Valves. DUNLOP CO. Ltd. 18 April, 1968 [19 April, 1967], No. 17864/67. Heading F2V. A valve assembly for use in suppling pneumatic pressure to aircraft controls has an inlet 2 connected to the engine, an inlet 3 for connection to an external source of pneumatic pressure and an outlet 4 provided with a baffle plate 11 and leading via a removable filter 6 to connections 9, 10. A hinged valve 13 formed by a pivoted metal frame 16 having metal sealing discs 17, 18 universally mounted thereon is normally biased by a spring 19 surrounding a pivoted pin 20 to the position shown with the disc 17 closing the inlet 2. Supply of pneumatic pressure to the inlet 2 moves the valve 13 so that the disc 18 closes the inlet 3. If a pneumatic supply is connected to the inlet 3 when the engine is not running the valve will move back to the position shown under the action of the external fluid pressure and the spring 19.
