1,223,510. Multiple retractable writing appliances. H. RIEPE, and K. H. DITZE, [trading as RIEPE-WERK]. 5 Dec., 1969 [18 Dec., 1968], No. 59622/69. Heading B6P. A multicolour retractable writing pen or pencil comprises a push button 4 for operating retraction mechanism (not shown), the push button operating on a swinging rod 6 which serves to select the required colour, the rod 6 being aligned with a required colour refill by means of a positioning contour which is located at the end of the rod 6 opposite to that engaging refills. The contour is formed within the push button, and as shown comprises a substantially square recess 20 having aligning corners such as 23, 23<SP>1</SP>, 2311. The rod 6 is suspended by a pivot plate 18 supported on an annular disc 14.
