Abstract
1,222,883. Spraying textile goods on formers. G. A. CARRUTHERS and K. J. PETERSEN. 1 April, 1969 [5 Jan., 1968], No. 807/68. Heading D1L. Textile articles are sprayed in an enclosed chamber whilst mounted on formers fixed to a rocking trolley movable into and out of the chamber. They may be sprayed from the top only or from the top and sides of the chamber. As shown, a trolley 13 carrying vertical formers 15 and supported on runners 14 rests in recesses 16 on tracks 12 carried by and parallel to the door 11 of the chamber 10. A vertical lever 35 is pivoted intermediate its ends and is attached by a clevis pin to the top of a rock lever 39 itself fixed to a rocking shaft 18. The rocking shaft has two parallel rocking arms 19 (see also figs. 2 and 7) disposed about the shaft so that the rollers 20 at the ends of the arms alternately raise and lower one side of the trolley when the shaft is rocked. A motor 29, cross-head 27 and crank pin 28 provide reciprocating means for a bar 25 and a pivoted lever 23 attached to this bar translates this movement to the lever 17 and hence the rocking shaft 18. Textile goods may be dyed, scoured or rinsed and steam may be admitted to the chamber during the spraying operation.
