918,392. Scraper devices for unloading wagons. SAARLANDISCHE GES. FUR GRUBENAUSBAU UND TECHNIK. Aug. 21, 1959 [Sept. 2, 1958], No. 28617/59. Class 78 (4). A cleaning apparatus for mine tubs comprises a frame 3 over a track 1 which carries mine tubs 2 and means for reciprocating a scraper 4 between a position where it scrapes the bottom of a mine tub passing over the track and a position where the scraper is clear of the tub. In one embodiment, the reciprocating movement is supplied by a piston 7 working in an hydraulic cylinder 8, the scraper 4 mounted on arms 5 moving in guides 5a being propelled by a piston rod 6. Dogs 14 mounted on an endless traction belt 13 engage an axle of the tubs to propel them along the track. In a second embodiment the movements of the scraper are automatically controlled by photo-electric cells and a tripping mechanism. The scraper may move in a horizontal plane instead of a vertical plane as shown. In this case the scraper would enter a tub from one side, the tub concerned being tipped towards the appropriate side.
