Boring-bar machines; milling-machines.-Relates to horizontal-spindle machines for boring, screwing, and milling, of the type in which the height of the spindle is adjusted in any known manner, and consists in providing a work-holder or table which is rotatable about a horizontal axis parallel to, or at right-angles to, the spindle. As shown in Figs. 1 and 3, the work-holder 2 is mounted in bearings on a plate 2<a> secured to the cross-slide 3 of a table 4 movable on the bed 5. By means of hand or power driven worm-gearing. as shown, the table 2 is rotated so that cylindrical and other milling can be done by a cutter 7a in the spindle 7. Gear-cutting.-By the use of this table, worm wheels can be cut or generated.
