Abstract
1,222,371. Feeding sheets. ACCESS EQUIPMENT Ltd. 16 May, 1968 [26 May, 1967]. No. 24597/67. Heading B8R. Sheets are separated from a stack 3 carried on hydraulically liftable table 1 by two sets of pneumatically-operated pusher arms 11 and 14, the arms 11 engaging the side edge of the topmost sheet 12 and urging it against roller fence 13 while arm 14 engages the rear edge of the displaced sheet and moves it forward in contact with fence 13 into the nip between drive roller 32 and nip roller 33. Trip member 34 senses an approaching sheet and causes roller 33 to descend and grip the sheet between rollers 32 and 33 which rollers are mounted at an angle to the front edge of the advancing sheet to maintain it against fence 13. Actuation of trip 34 releases the pusher arms and these return to their initial positions. As the rear edge of the sheet passes over trip 34, nip roller 33 rises and table 1 is raised until height trip 26 is actuated indicating that the next topmost sheet is ready for separation, whereupon the pushers 11 and 14 again commence operation.
