Abstract

[Also in Division E1] A unit for keeping water from a portion of the underside of a ship's hull (e.g. for maintenance or repair purposes) comprises an upwardly open compartment m having sealing means h extending along an upper edge i which surrounds the compartment, on two opposite sides of which are buoyancy tanks a having means (e.g. valves b) for regulating their buoyancy. The tanks a may have divisions w. The unit may have guides s through which may be passed ropes to secure the unit to the ship's hull. The unit may have an entry hatch e in its underside, connections c, d and k for air supply, a connection l for an electrical supply, and brackets j for attaching materials and tools.
