Abstract
1,220,256. Refractory linings for kilns. VEITSCHER MAGNESITWERKE A.G. 21 May, 1968 [24 May, 1967], No. 24181/68. Heading F4B. The lining of a rotary kiln is formed from rings of wedge-shaped bricks 1, having grooves 1a in their abutting lateral faces to define channels 2 into which supporting members 3 are inserted. These members 3 project beyond the end face of a completed ring of bricks, so that the bricks of a succeeding ring may be supported on them as they are pushed into place. In modifications, the support members may be twice the length of the brick, in which case (Fig. 4, not shown), they may be formed integral with shim plates as disclosed in Specification 1,129,384.
