Abstract

1283679 Rotary fuse furnaces W WIEDERMANN 19 April 1971 [6 May 1970 5 Aug 1970] 25409/71 Heading F4B A rotary furnace 1 for burning refuse is lined with rows of bricks 4 of fireclay, metal or graphite or combinations thereof arranged to form steps 6, the front corner edge of the steps being chamfered (Fig. 3) or curved (Figs. 6 and 7). Each brick may comprise a top plate 14, Fig. 4, chamfered at 8 and a lower brick 13 joined by a dovetailed connection (15, Fig. 5). The top plate has projections 17 and may be divided into parallel sections (14a-14c, Fig. 5). The furnace may have a central charging pipe (19, Figs. 8-10) associated with an air inlet (20) disposed obliquely to the axis of rotation. Each brick 4 may comprise several parallel sections (9, 10 and 11, Fig. 3).
