Abstract

1,219,019. Bearings. ROOTES MOTORS Ltd. 12 Nov., 1969 [18 Dec., 1968], No. 60224/68. Heading F2A. A bearing assembly comprises a shaft 10 rotatably mounted in two resilient bearing members 11, each member having a slit 19 between the bore and the outer periphery so that the member can be snapped on to the shaft, two fixed supports 12, 13 on which the members are mounted, the members being engaged with the supports by moving them along the shaft away from each other so that a flange 26 on the support engages a slit in the member, and means for holding the members in engagement with their respective supports. The holding means may consist of a washer 30 brazed to the shaft, and a split sleeve 31 of resilient material snapped on to the shaft. The bearing members 11 may be of nylon.
