Abstract

1368269 Bearings SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN GmbH 7 Dec 1971 [9 Dec 1970] 56877/71 Heading F2A A sliding bearing comprises inner 2 and outer 4 bearing members having between them means 6 keeping the members spaced apart. The spacing means have a series of surfaces 8 in sliding contact with one of the members and a second series of surfaces 9 in sliding contact with the other member, each surface in contact with said one of the members having legs joined to the surface portion so as to be resiliently flexible about the junctions, the legs extending towards the other member and diverging in that direction and terminating at a surface which conforms to the surface of the other member. The spacing means may be a plurality of elements each having a surface in contact with one member and a pair of legs each having a surface contacting the other member, or may comprise a single element (Fig. 3, not shown) having a plurality of surfaces in contact with the members. The outer member may have a part-spherical surface, and one of the races may have a radially extending flange at each axial end of the spacing means to limit axial movement of the means.
