1,019,475. Bearings. S. SMITH & SONS (ENGLAND) Ltd. June 29, 1964, No. 26833/64. Heading F2A. A rotary shaft is supported by roller or ball bearing 14, 15 having a race mounted on a carrier part, i.e. shaft or fixed support, by a corrugated spring ring 18, the spring having axially extending corrugations and being disposed in a groove in the carrier part to prevent relative rotation between race and carrier but allowing relative axial movement. Ring 18 may be bent from a corrugated strip of spring steel. Split ring 20 limits the axial movement of the bearing. The shaft may be that of an electric motor.
