Abstract

1,114,158. Indicating apparatus. NALDER BROS. and THOMPSON Ltd. Sept. 30, 1965 [Nov. 19, 1964j, No.47200/64. Heading G1J. [Also in Division F2] An indicating apparatus shaft 1 pivotally mounted relatively to a fixed member 7 and incorporating damping means comprises a pair of bushes 9 carried by the shaft 1 at spaced apart locations and each having a first surface 10, the first surfaces facing in opposite directions. The fixed member carries co-operating second surfaces 11 adjacent the first surfaces, each pair of first and second surfaces having a liquid 14 dispersed therebetween, the liquid being held by surface tension. The second surfaces may be parts of a pair of adjustable jewel bearing assemblies. In a modification the bushes are formed with recesses which surround the adjacent ends of parts of the jewel bearing assemblies Fig. 2 (not shown). Further the jewel bearing may be carried on a spring-loaded member Fig. 3 (not shown).
