Abstract

1,215,270. Rollers. BARMAG BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. 24 Oct., 1969 [24 Oct., 1968], No. 52126/69. Heading F2U. A godet comprises two spaced annular members 1, 2 whose ends are hermetically sealed for the retention of a heating liquid 13, such as water, the adjacent surfaces of both or either of the members being formed with axial ribs 7, 8 which contact the layer of fluid formed around the inside wall of the outer member 1 by centrifugal force. As shown the ribs are continuous, but they may be interrupted over all or part of their length by circumferential or helical grooves, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown). In a further arrangement, Fig. 5 (not shown), the ribs are formed on the inner member 2 only. The heater 5 may be of the electric inductive or resistance type, and the outer wall 1 may have an axial bore 6 for a thermometer probe.
