Abstract

1,212,794. Regulating I. C. engines. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. April 18, 1968 [April 19, 1967], No. 18361/68. Heading F1B. A sleeve 15 slipped on to one end 20 of the shaft 4 of a butterfly valve 2 in an I. C. engine intake manifold 1 is mounted in a housing 5, 6 secured to the manifold and a member 17, 18 is coupled to the sleeve for actuating a switch 13. The switch may be arranged to reduce or cut off the fuel supply of a petrol injection fuel-air mixture compression engine when the valve 2 is closed or substantially closed or allow an electrically controlled clutch to connect the engine and driving wheels of a vehicle only when the valve is opened beyond a predetermined angle. The sleeve 15 is non- rotatably connected to the shaft end 20 by a leaf spring 19 between the sleeve and the flattened part of the shaft end. The housing part 5 is secured to the manifold 1 by screws 23 engaging in arcuate slots 22. The switch 13 is connected in series with a bi-metallic temperature switch 12.
