Abstract

1,209,587. Weft stop motions. ETAG TEX TIL WERKE G.m.b.H. 25 Feb., 1969 [28 Feb., 1968], No. 10065/69. Heading DIE. A weft stop motion comprises a detector of a knot in the weft yarn approaching the shed and control means responsive to the detector to stop the loom when the weft is in the shed, to cut the weft at the entry side of the shed and to remove the length of weft with the knot from the shed. The detector comprises a forked lever 7 having a slot wide enough to allow theweft to pass. When a knot arrives the fork 7 is pivoted and an electrical contact is made which actuates a control 16 and signal lamp or warning buzzer 27. When the weft is in the shed cutters 8 are operated and the weft is sucked out through a tube 13. A second stop motion may be positioned between the cutters 8 and the shed to ensure that the faulty weft is removed. Fork 7 is replaceable for different thicknesses of weft 4.
