Abstract
1,208,971. Extruding. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. 1 March, 1968 [3 March, 1967], No. 10069/68. Heading B3P. A billet 16 is hydrostatically extruded from a billet chamber 7 through a die 10 carried by a hollow punch 4 entering one end of the chamber, by means of a punch 3 entering the opposite end thereof. Punch 4 is mounted on a stationary table 2 containing cylinders 8 for moving the billet container 6. Punch 3 is secured at 5 to a main piston 1. During extrusion, a stop 17 on this punch engages the container 6 and causes it to move to the left, Fig. 2 (not shown). The container 6 is enclosed in a bellows type vessel 15 containing fluid which fills the billet chamber and is pressurized upon entry of the punch 3. A spring 13 and washer 14 are arranged between the punch 3 and the billet.
