1,206,922. Positive clutches. SCHNELLPRESSENFABRIK FRANKENTRAL ALBERT & CIE A.G. 13 Jan., 1969 [15 Jan., 1968], No. 1866/69. Heading F2C. A shaft coupling between shafts 1 and 2, e.g. the forme cylinder 1 of a rotary printing press and its driving shaft 2, comprises an internally splined sleeve 5 axially slidable in either direction from its central position engaging pinions 3, 4 keyed to shafts 1, 2, into positions engaging one pinion only, and the pinion 3 has one tooth gap 7 filled, the sleeve 5 having a corresponding recess so that the cylinder 1 can only engage in the sleeve 5 in one relative rotational position. The sleeve 5 is moved by a lever 6 which may be locked in any of its positions (not further deseribed).
