Abstract
1,205,092. Fastenings. BLOXWICH LOCK & STAMPING CO. Ltd. 9 July, 1969 [20 July, 1968], No. 34710/68. Headings E2A and E2B. A fastening for the tilting cab of a lorry comprises a hook 10 which is pivoted at 17 and is drawn up by screw bolt 21 and nut 16 to engage a keeper 12 on the lorry chassis, an arm 26 engaging a fixed roller 25 to swing the hook clear of the keeper when it is screwed down into the releasing position. The hook is formed of two forgings 13 and the trunnions 17 are guided in slots 18 in the frame. A second guide roller 27 serves to align the hook with the keeper during upward movement. A safety hook 28, engaging a second keeper 29 which is forced into its engaging position when the main hook is raised. When the main hook is released, the safety hook may be released by means, e.g. a Bowden cable at 32.
