Abstract

1,204,718. Portable power tool. GARDNER-DENVER CO. 27 Oct., 1967 [16 March, 1967], No. 48890/67. Headings B3C and B3N. A portable drill, screw driver, impact nut runner, or tapper, comprises a plastics casing 26 having an integral handle 20, and a metal sleeve 12 press fitted into the casing, into which is screwed end pieces 14, 16. The liner contains a tool operating mechanism 17 comprising an air motor 36, and a gear mechanism 48. Air is supplied to motor 36 via a valve 40, and a passageway 44. The bore 22 of the easing is tapered, and the exterior surface of sleeve 12 is also tapered, so as to provide a press fit, and the joint faces may be coated with epoxy resin.
