Abstract

1,048,938. Drilling machines. FLEXISPEED Ltd. Aug. 14, 1963 [Aug. 14, 1962], No. 31154/62. Heading B3C. An adaptor device for extending the output drive shaft of an electric hand drill to facilitate the mounting of an attachment, e.g. a reduction gear-box, comprises in combination an extension piece 13, Fig. 5 (not shown), and a sleeve member 16, Fig. 6 (not shown). The extension piece 13 is threadably engageable with the drill shaft 2 and the sleeve 16 is secured to the end face of the drill housing by screws 17, Fig. 7 (not shown). The attachment 11 is secured to the sleeve, in abutment with the shoulder 18 thereon, by means of a clamp 10. The threaded portion 15 on the extension piece be adapted to drivingly engage the attachment 11. The arrangement shown facilitates the mounting of the drill in a stand.
