Abstract

1,203,883. Incinerator furnaces. BRULE' INCINERATOR CORP. 23 Sept., 1968 [7 Dec., 1967], No. 45082/68. Heading F4B. An incinerator is constructed of four prefabricated sections, an ash pit section 12 formed of metal plates with corner angle irons 16 which locate a combustion chamber section 4 having metal walls, a refractory lining, a charging door 8, and a port 6 leading to the secondary combustion chamber and flue sections 18, 22. A burner port is provided in the combustion chamber section, and the ash pit section carries a grate and has bottom air inlet openings. A secondary combustion chamber and up-pass flue at the side of the secondary combustion chamber are formed in a lower section 22, and an upper section 18, each having a refractory partition. Aligning rods 24 are secured to the lower section 22 and pass through holes in the corners of the upper section 18. Each section 18, 22 carries part of a refractory sleeve which projects into the port 6 in the combustion chamber section. The refractory linings of the sections are coated with refractory cement before the sections are joined to provide seals between the refractory linings of the sections. Each section has an insulating layer between the refractory lining and the outer metal casing.
