Abstract

A sealed multiple headlamp unit comprises a one-piece reflector body of parabolic mirrors attached to a common glass front 2, one mirror being for a main beam bulb 6 and the other for a dipped beam bulb 7, both mirrors being pressed out of a single sheet metal blank with the part linking them being used as a parking light 8. The headlamp unit is mounted with the mirrors side by side in a horizontal plane, the centre of the main beam mirror being located above, and the centre of the dipped beam mirror being located below the horizontal centre line of the unit. The unit itself is rectangular in front elevation, the mirrors being cut off horizontally where they would extend vertically beyond the unit, and the unit is adjustable by means of screws to align it in both a vertical and a horizontal plane. The main lamp bulb is a halogen bulb and the dipped bulb is a standard bulb.
