1,201,549. Cleaning gases. C.I.T. COMPAGNIE INDUSTRIELLE DES TELECOMMUNICATIONS. 25 Sept., 1968 [25 Sept., 1967], No. 45500/68. Heading B1R. Apparatus for cleaning gas which is introduced at 2 tangentially into an enclosure 1 and which is sprayed with liquid from nozzles 8 and withdrawn through a central chimney 7 opening into the lower end of the enclosure has the chimney electrically insulated from the enclosure, each being connected to one of the poles of an electric generator 11, preferably of a low voltage type. An electrode 15 may be mounted within the chimney and maintained at the same polarity as the enclosure. The nozzles 8 are connected to one pole of an electric generator 9.
