Abstract

1,200,755. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. WALKER MFG. CO. Aug.1, 1967, No.35307/67. Heading G3P. [Also in Division F1] A device for operating the throttle valve of an I.C. engine carburetter comprises a diaphragm 48 connected by a shaft 13 to a lever (7), Fig.1 (not shown), on the throttle valve and the diaphragm is subjected to the vacuum in the engine intake manifold under the control of a valve 63 actuated by an evacuated metallic bellows 35. The bellows 35 is subject to manifold vacuum through a conduit 15 and opens the valve 63 at a predetermined vacuum. The bellows 35 is adjustable relative to the valve 63 by the threaded shaft 37. The diaphragm chamber 27 is vented to atmosphere through an opening 61. In a further embodiment, Fig.3 (not shown), the valve (63a) controlling the application of manifold vacuum to the diaphragm is screw-threaded into an end-plate (75a) of the bellows (35a).
