Abstract

1,198,995. Electrophotographic plate. GEVAERT-AGFA N.V. 23 Jan., 1968 [28 Feb., 1967], No. 9522/67. Heading H1K. An electrophotographic plate comprises a support and a photo-conductive layer comprising a photo-conductor and a binder containing a hydantoin-formaldehyde condensate having recurring units of formula wherein R 1 and R 2 are H or an alkyl radical containing 1 to 5 C atoms. In the embodiments R 1 and R 2 are both methyl. The support may be glassine paper, A1, conductively coated paper or plastics or laminated paper and metal foil. The photoconductor may be ZnO. Preferably copoly(maleic anhydride/N-vinyl pyrrolidone) is added as a dispersing agent together with acid butyl phosphate.
