Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a sensitive plate free from peeling, discharge breakdown. etc., giving a superior image and having high printing resistance by forming a photoconductive layer on a metal support with a middle layer based on satd. linear polyester resin in-between to enhance the adhesion between the photoconductive layer and support.
CONSTITUTION: A middle layer is formed on a metallic support including a nonmetallic support having an upper metal layer by coating ≤3μ linear satd. polyester prepared by condensing terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid or the like and ethylene glycol. A photoconductive layer is then formed on the middle layer by vapor depositing a photoconductive substance such as ZnO, Se or Cds, dispersing the substance in a binder or other method. The resulting electrophotographic receptor can be used repeatedly as the sensitive plate of an ordinary paper copier or an offset original plate without peeling the photoconductive layer from the middle layer, and the photoconductive layer does not cause discharge breakdown to prevent the formation of an inferior image.
