Abstract

1,197,022. Pneumatic conveyers. SINGER CO. 2 April, 1968 [19 April, 1967], No. 15822/68. Heading B8A. [Also in Division F1] A pneumatic conveyer comprises a transverseflow blower having an impeller 32 generating a primary air flow from an inlet 28 to a discharge 30, the solid particles to be conveyed being introduced into a secondary air flow induced into a secondary inlet 46 by the primary air flow. A control vane 44 which directs the primary and secondary flows to the discharge 30 prevents contact between the secondary flow and the impeller 32 so that conveyed particles such as grain are not damaged and the conveyance of abrasive particles does not damage or excessively wear the impeller.
