Abstract
1371375 Pneumatic conveyers R W BROWN 20 Dec 1972 [29 Sept 1971] 45283/71 Heading B8A A pneumatic conveying system comprises a receiving vessel having an inlet and an outlet, a blower/exhaust unit associated with the receiving vessel through an air flow reversing valve, and valve means associated with the inlet and outlet of the receiving vessel such that the vessel alternately receives material by suction and discharges material by blowing. In the figure, blower/exhaust unit 10 is connected via air flow reversing valve 11 with two filter vessels 14, 15, which are in turn connected to a respective one of two receiving vessels 18, 19. One way valves 23, 24, 33, 34, 35 and 36 are also connected to the unit 10 and are set so that on one setting of valve 11 material enters vessel 19 by suction, while material leaves vessel 18 due to air being blown through from filter 14. When valve 11 is switched to the other setting, vessel 19 is discharged and vessel 18 is charged. The one-way valves (Fig. 2, not shown) are operated by a diaphragm attached to a rod attached in turn to a flap valve. The system may be portable by, for example, mounting it on a wheeled chassis.
