Abstract

1400808 Pneumatic conveyers MUCON ENG CO Ltd 19 Dec 1973 [21 Dec 1972] 59299/72 Heading B8A In a suction-operated pneumatic conveying system, material enters twin receiving vessels alternately as they are connected to a vacuum source, the other vessel being connected simultaneously to atmosphere in order to discharge the material therefrom, the alternate connections being controlled by a valve. In Fig. 1, valves 12, 12a connect pipes 27, 27a to vacuum and atmosphere. Fig. 2 shows one pair 3 of receiving vessels 21. As one vessel 21 is connected to atmosphere via pipe 27, the corresponding flap valve 42 is opened and the vessel discharges. Simultaneously, the other vessel 21 is connected to vacuum and material enters via pipe 25 and a non-return valve. Filters 28 are cleaned by the reverse flow of air each time the vessels are discharged.
