Abstract

1,196,816. Colour concentrates for polyolefins. VYZKUMNY USTAV CHEMICKYCH VLAKEN NO SVITE. 20 June, 1968 [21 June, 1967], No. 29350/68. Heading C3P. Colour concentrates for colouring polyolefins comprise 96 to 30 weight per cent of a polyolefin, 2 to 25 weight per cent of a pigment, 2 to 25 weight per cent of a polyglycol and optionally 0À5 to 20 weight per cent of a phosphite ester, the weight ratio of pigment to polyglycol together with phosphite if present being 1 to 0À3 to 1 to 2À5. The polyglycol may be a polymer or copolymer of ethylene glycol or propylene glycol. The concentrates may be added to polyolefins prior to extrusion into films and filaments. Examples describe concentrates comprising pigments and (1) polypropylene and polyethylene glycol, (2) polypropylene, polyethylene glycol, calcium stearate, styrenated phenol phosphite and a polyphenolic antioxidant, (3) polyethylene and an ethylene glycol/propylene glycol copolymer and (4) polypropylene, polyethylene glycol and tris-(nonylphenyl) phosphite.
