Abstract
1,196,692. Anchoring prestressing strands. SOC DES GRANDS TRAVAUX DE MARSEILLE. 12 Feb., 1968 [19 May, 1967; 27 Dec., 1967], No. 6802/68. Heading E1W. An assembly of prestressing strands 1 are secured within ducts through an anchorage sleeve 2 by cold-drawing the sleeve with the strands in position. The tension is subsequently applied by applying traction to strands projecting beyond the sleeve and is transferred to the structure by a nut 9 screwed over the sleeve, Fig. 4, after which the projecting strands are cut off. In a modification the traction is applied to a screwed rod 10 projecting from the sleeve 2, the anchoring nut 9 eventually being applied to this rod, after which any part of the rod projecting beyond the nut 10 is cut off as shown in Fig. 7.
